What the contact form collects
If you use the contact form, the site collects your name, email address, inquiry type, and message. You may also choose to provide a preferred event date. A hidden field is used to identify automated spam.
How inquiries are used
The band uses this information to read, evaluate, and respond to your inquiry, discuss a possible performance or collaboration, prevent spam, and keep a reasonable record of the conversation. Contact-form information is not used for newsletter enrollment and is not sold.
Email delivery
When the contact form is configured, it sends inquiries through Resend, an email delivery provider. Resend receives the information needed to deliver the message. If the email service is not configured or is unavailable, the site does not report a successful submission. The direct booking email remains available.
Newsletter signup
If you join the newsletter from the footer form, the site collects your email address and adds it to the band’s subscribed Contacts in Resend. The band uses that address only for occasional show news and band updates. Submitting the contact form does not subscribe you to the newsletter.
Resend processes the newsletter address and handles unsubscribe links for Broadcast emails. You can unsubscribe through a message you receive or ask the band to remove your address.
Spam prevention and technical information
The site uses short-lived server-side rate-limit and duplicate-submission records. These records may include a network address and a one-way fingerprint of selected form fields. They are used only to reduce spam and repeated submissions. The hosting provider may also process standard request information, such as a network address, browser details, and requested page, for security and reliable delivery.
Analytics, cookies, and local storage
This site uses Google Analytics to help the band understand page visits, general traffic sources, approximate location, and browser or device information. Analytics loads automatically and may set first-party cookies, including _ga and a related _ga_<container-id> cookie, to distinguish browsers and maintain session information.
Google lists a default expiration of up to two years for these cookies, although browser limits or settings may shorten that period. The site does not store an Analytics preference in browser local storage. Visitors can delete or block cookies through their browser settings, which may reduce the accuracy of Analytics reporting.
Analytics storage is enabled. Advertising storage, advertising user data, advertising personalization, Google Signals, and remarketing remain disabled by the site. The band does not use Google Analytics for advertising or newsletter enrollment.
Google processes permitted analytics information as a third-party service provider. Learn more in Google’s privacy policy (opens in a new tab). No other analytics or advertising trackers are intentionally used.
Retention
Short-lived anti-spam records normally expire within minutes. Email correspondence is kept only as long as reasonably needed to answer the inquiry, plan a performance, maintain a business record, or meet a legal obligation. The band will review and remove inquiry records that are no longer needed.
A newsletter address remains in Resend until you unsubscribe or ask for deletion. Resend may retain an unsubscribed status as needed to honor that request and avoid sending unwanted messages.
Analytics information is kept according to the retention controls in the band’s Google Analytics account and Google’s applicable policies. The band will periodically review those controls and keep analytics information only while it remains useful for understanding the site.
Security limits
Reasonable technical measures are used to protect submissions, but no website or email system can guarantee perfect security. Please do not send payment-card numbers, government identifiers, or other highly sensitive information through the form or by email.
Access and deletion requests
To ask what information the band has about you, request a correction, or request deletion, email davidwadeblackmountain@gmail.com. The band may need enough information to verify and locate the relevant conversation.
Policy updates
This policy may be updated when the site’s services or practices change. The effective date at the top will be revised when an update is published.
